Nagpur: Scented Tobacco – which was prohibited in Maharashtra – worth around RS8.85 lakh was confiscated by police jaripatka after intercepting the milk container from CMPDI Road on Sunday.
Food and Medicine Administration (FDA) has collected samples to test the consignment confiscated in the government laboratory.
The police said the consignment was allegedly bought and bought from a businessman Chhindwara, who was identified as Farook by the owner of the Vijay Vijay Jethani trader, who had been accused of in this case.
Senior Inspector of Vaibhav Jadhav from the police station Jaripatka said the driver of the Kishan Tandekar vehicle was detained, while the owner of Jethani was great since the action.
“Scented and flavorful tobacco sacks are being transported behind the milk crate.
We intercept the vehicle after specific information,” Jadhav said, added that the action was led by the Deputy Zonal Commissioner of Police (DCP) Manish Kalwaniya and ACP Roshan Pandit, supervised by CP Amitesh Kumar.
“We also enter the name of the supplier of Chhindara Firoook against the squeeze,” Jadhav said further, added that there was a previous record against Jethani after the delivery was intercepted by Crime Branch a few days ago.
According to people in, Jethani and other tobacco kingbits in cities like Anil, Bharat and Niraj have bought Tobacco Taste from Chhindwara and Seoni in Madhya Pradesh, where suppliers such as Shankar and Farook have given them a consignment worth of crores rupees.
These shipment were taken in a carrier vehicle behind grain sacks, Masala and so on, to avoid interception.
