Mumbai: The Maharashtra government on Tuesday issued orders that extend full vaccination mandates 14 days after the second dose to ride local trains and other services to important workers.
From now on, Universal Pass will be published for only residents who are fully vaccinated, regardless of whether they come from important or not services.
So far, only the general public is asked to be fully vaccinated to ride the local train.
The government said people who work in important sectors, including government employees must be fully vaccinated and must complete 14 days since inoculation before being allowed to take local trains and other services.
The command issued by Sitaram Kunte’s secretary head stated that currently an important service such as health, telecommunications, gas supply, water and government personnel, among others, has been released through, regardless of their vaccination status, to ensure their services are not affected.
“However, it should be noted that a significant time has passed since the vaccination drive initiation.
And the drive is being carried out at a very fast speed with an adequate vaccine available through private and public centers,” the Order said.
