Bengaluru: A 28-year-old woman who suffered burns on her face after she underwent fire-based alcoholic drinks by Bengaluru Pub, has won a legal battle and compensation of Rs 74,000.
The woman from Akshayanagar visited Communiti, a pub-cum-diner, on the residency road on February 15, 2019 with three friends.
While drinking at that place, he alleged that a staff pushed him to order Sambuca shots, alcoholic drinks that lit up with fire before consumption.
Take advice, he ordered one and the drink was made and poured into his mouth.
But during the process, he suffered burns on the left side of his mouth and was taken to the hospital by his friends and pub staff.
He was treated as an outpatient and immediately dismissed.
Following care, he submitted a complaint on November 13, 2019 with Bangalore Urban Regency, set the recovery commission in Shantinagar against the pub, demanding more compensation from RS 20 Lakh, claiming that the accident was caused by the negligence of his staff.
The female lawyer presented this case with a note, including medical information and travel details for treatment.
Making this case, the communiti lawyer said his claim was wrong and he had ordered an alkaline drink at his free will and burned himself in the process of consuming it and no employee was guilty of the accident.
The consumer forum judges noted that the woman was taken to the hospital by staff from the pub and their claims had the power because the manager of the establishment was not an eyewitness for the event and staff members were not examined clearly.

In addition, the woman has produced a note for the treatment taken and has even approached the police immediately after the incident.
On October 1, the judges decided that Communiti had to pay Women Rs 74,000 – Rs 4,000 towards his medical expenses, Rs 10,000 for the cost of transportation and the incident separately from Rs 50,000 as compensation to cause accidents and the court costs, in it.
