Lucknow: As many as five people have been detained by the Uttar Pradesh police in a three-day range because five fired for pro-Pakistani slogans and social media posts after losing India in the ongoing ICC World Cup ICC.

“In one case, the complainants are also threatened so that criminal intimidation allegations have also been added,” he said.
Both cases were registered against people and unidentified efforts to track them, the officer said.
In Agra, three Kashmir students were ordered at the Jagdishpura Police Station on charges of promoting hostilities on the basis of religion, race, birth, carrying out prejudicable measures for harmony maintenance, the intention to cause fear or alarm for the public and part 66 of it acted and detained.
The police said they raised anti-Indian slogans.
A senior official at the DGP headquarters said, “All district police chiefs have been ordered to maintain vigil on social media and supervise developments that can damage the atmosphere in the state.”
