Vadodara: For the first time after September 4, the city and the district recorded five new Covid-19 cases within 24 hours.
Cases have increased consistently since last weekend.
New cases reported on Wednesday were detected from 2,470 tests conducted since Tuesday night.
New cases reported from the Jetalpur area, Gorwa, Manjalpur and Dandiabazaar in the city.
There are no new cases from the district area outside the boundary of Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC).
The number of active cases that have been pushed down eight on Tuesday, increased to 12 again on Wednesday.

VMC Medical Officer (Health) Dr.
Devesh Patel said that the trend in the increase in the case was being witnessed since two to the last three days.
“People disappoint their guards.

This might have contributed to the increase, but we must monitor the situation in the coming days,” he said.
The source said that the city might not see zero new everyday cases in the near future.
There has been a new contact case that shows symptoms.
