New Delhi: The center on Wednesday said it plans to allow the retail sale of small LPG cylinders and offer financial services through a fair price store as part of its steps to increase the financial feasibility of this outlet.
These problems are discussed in virtual meetings with state governments chaired by Sudhanshu Food Secretary Pandey.
Representatives from the electronic ministry and that; finance; and petroleum and natural gas also attended meetings.
Officials from Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and CSC India Limited (CSC) e-governance services are also present.
After the meeting, the Ministry of Food and Consumer Affairs said in a statement: “Proactive steps to be taken to increase FPS financial feasibility.

LPG cylinder retail sales plan is small through FPS on the runway.” Representatives of the Oil Marketing Company (OMC) appreciated the small LPG retail sales proposal through a fair price store (FPS), also called a ration store.
OMC said the necessary support will be provided for the same thing in coordination with the country / UT government interested, he added.
In the meeting, the Food Secretary emphasized the need to take proactive steps to improve the financial feasibility of FPSS.
The state government said collaboration with a Public Service Center (CSC) would increase the feasibility of FPS.
They also mentioned that they would coordinate with CSC to review the feasibility according to local requirements.
On the proposal offering financial services via FPS, representatives of the Financial Services Department (DFS) informed that the necessary support will be provided for the same in coordination with interested conditions.
The government plans to expand the Mudra loan to FPS dealers for capital augmentation, the statement was added.
Food Secretary asked the state to take this initiative and adjust them to suit their needs.
He suggested CSC to carry out separate webinars / webinars with state groups and different union areas to provide sensitization on potential benefits, development of FPS capacity and help them in the implementation of this initiative.
Furthermore, the Secretary suggested countries to carry out sustainable outreach conscursions and campaigns simultaneously to get FPS dealers on the benefits of this initiative.
In a series of ministers of tweets, food and consumer affairs Piyush Goyal said, “Plan the LPG cylinder retail sales through FPS on the runway.
State / UTS for sensitive FPS dealers on the same thing.” Goyal said his service called for taking proactive steps to improve FPS financial feasibility.
There are around 5.26 lakh fair prices in the country through which subsidized meadows under the National Food Security Law are distributed to the beneficiaries of poor benefits.
