90% in Delhi has antibodies against Covid: Survey
Written by news2in

New Delhi: More than 90% of those who are included in the sixth serological survey in Delhi have developed antibodies against Coronavirus, according to a report submitted to the government on Wednesday.
This means that Delhi is unlikely to watch Covid waves as destructive as the second in April and May, until the severe variant has only appeared, government officials said.
“However, we cannot say Delhi has reached a herd of flocks despite the high sero prevalence rate,” the official said.
Also, it cannot be said whether vaccination has a role in the high level of seropositivity in the capital.
“We have found Covid antibodies in more than 90% of samples collected during the sixth round of surveys,” the official source said.
The collection of samples under the sixth sero survey began on September 24.
A total of 28,000 samples were collected from all 280 wards, including the Delhi City Council and the Cantonment Agency, in the capital.
The seropositive level in each district is more than 85%.
More women are found seropositive compared to men, said sources.
“We cannot say appropriately if Delhi has reached a herd of flocks because there is no research or data to show that the virus will not spread after a percentage of certain populations is affected,” the official said.
“However, the same viral variant (Delta) cannot lead to the main epidemic.
So, we can say there will be no other waves of the second coronavirus, until the severe variant has just appeared,” officially added.
Also, the antibodies developed will be partially effective against new variants.
This is the first survey to do after Delhi was beaten by the fourth Covid wave in April and May.
The fifth round of the Sero survey conducted in January has shown that 56.13% of people in Delhi have developed antibodies against Covid-19.
In April and May, Delhi struggled a brutal pandemic wave that claimed a large number of lives with lack of oxygen and reduced the supply of essential drugs in hospitals to increase misery.
On April 20, Delhi reported 28,395 cases, the highest in the city since the beginning of the pandemic.
On April 22, the level of the case of the case was 36.2 percent, the highest so far.
