Guwahati: The local court here on Wednesday delivered the parenting of the elderly pair, who was killed at their residence in Beltola, in police custody seven days after investigators submitted proof that “clearly establishes his involvement” in crime.
Caregivers, Akash Choudhury, who were arrested on Tuesday night on charges of entry without permission, theft, and murder, had denied his involvement in crime until Wednesday night.
The police were delivered before the court that Akash needed further interrogation and wanted his rights.
The bodies of the couple, Nani Barua (87) and Meena Barua (65), have been stored in the morgue when families are waiting for the oldest daughter’s arrival based in London for their last ritual.
Other girls arrived here from Mumbai on Tuesday night and filed fir police.
Police Commissioner Guwahati Harmet Singh on Wednesday said the police did not find the second person’s fingerprint except Akash at the crime.
