MySuru: The new 450-bed medical institution was built at the hospital (CIMS) inaugurated by President of RAM Nath Kovind on October 7, opened its services to the public from Monday.
Except for covid care, pregnant and pediatrics, the rest of the department including emergency care has shifted to facilities from the old district hospital campus.
The 450-bed hospital has appeared at 31,000 square meters spread across 2.3 hectares of land on the 10-hectare campus in Yedapura.
This five-story building has outpatient services, wards, laboratories, emergency wards, main operating theater, medical staff, teaching rooms, administrative services and large rooms and other rooms.
Because most medical services shift from the old district hospital in B Rachaiiah Road to new facilities, people are advised to take advantage of treatment in new hospitals from Monday except for pregnancy, pediatric and covid care.
Apart from the delay in recruiting non-teaching staff, employees of groups, security guards and civil workers, the authorities of CIMS run the hospital by using staff from the old district hospital.

DM Sanjiv told TII that even though CIMS had sufficient specialists, doctors and other staff, a proposal was sent to the state government to make 380 staff appointments, security guards, and pouracumikasas.
When the hospital has seven entry points and exits, direct recruitment of security staff must keep the entire campus and manage the movement of patients, relatives, vehicles and hospital staff.
The construction of small rooms for security guards was also delayed before the authority, he said.
The KSRTC started the New Hospital Service Bus located seven-km from the city, KSRTC had started a bus operation from Tuesday.
It has a fixed ticket price of Rs 15 per head.
Buses are operated from city bus stands to new hospitals every 45 minutes, said B Srinivas, Division Division Controller Chamarajanagar.
