Pune: The number of Active Covid-19 cases in the Pune Metropolitan area (PMR) has dropped from 6,000 at the end of September to less than 3,000 now, registering a 51% decline in just a month.
Among the PMR segment, the rural part has recorded a decrease in 58% highest in active cases within a month period.

Health officials said the active amount in the rural part had dropped to 1.570 now.
“The decline in cases has also caused a decrease in the number of areas of hotspots in the rural part.
Rural areas with 10 or more cases actively come under the territory of hotspots in Pune rural.
Daily cases in rural areas have started from 200 to 400 since the last few days.
There are around 34 Hotspot villages in the countryside, “said a health official.
PMC and PCMC health workers say the number of cases below 1,000 in their limits for more than a week now.
“The numbers are declining because the city adds less than 100 patients every day, which has helped push the active patient count to 850.
We monitor cases at the environmental level.
Dense regions have reported a lower number of cases and have not recorded an increase , “said Sanjeev Wavre, deputy head in the PMC health department.
Other officials from the PMC health department said, “Although the cases are declining, we urge citizens to follow the appropriate behavior of Covid and house isolation guidelines.
Residents are asked to continue to use the face cover when stepping out even though they have completed the vaccine dose.”
