AHMEDABAD: A depraved sex offender, who terrorized Gandhinagar by three little girls raped and killed one of them in the last 10 days, has finally been arrested.
Nearly 100 police Gandhinagar set aside Diwali celebrations to track down and arrest the accused Vijay Thakor, a resident of 26 years of Vansjada village in Kalol taluka, on Sunday.
“Thakor has admitted to raping girls aged 5 and 7 years.
He also kidnapped and murdered three years before raping corpses.
He has been remanded in police custody till November 11 for further investigation, “Abhay Chudasama, Inspector General of Police (Gandhinagar range), on Monday.
Thakor – workers with private companies in Santej – married and has a six-year-old daughter, police said.
“Addiction to porn after his wife was pregnant for the second time, he hunted for the little girl because he believed they would not be able to tell the sexual prey on them to anyone, leaving her safe,” police said.

A woman worker who lives near the village Rancharda Santej approached the police, stating that an unidentified man kidnapped his daughter five years and left in a remote place.
“She had a medical check-up confirmed that she had been raped,” said Chudasama.
Two days later, police received a similar complaint Santej of casual workers, who came from Dahod.
She told police that her daughter had been kidnapped three years on the evening of November 5, their emergency shanty near the crossroads Khatraj.
“After watching hundreds of CCTV footage and gather information from locals, seven Gandhinagar police team including personnel from the local crime branch, special operations group, and the police station Santej, focusing on Thakor,” said Chudasama.
He added, “Thakor had lured the victim five years by the victims to buy new clothes.
In the second case, he entered the hut when everyone is asleep and abducted children.
Thakor killed three years because she screamed for help loudly.
He then raped her and dumped in a sewer near the village of Moti Bhoyan in Gandhinagar.
