Vadodara: Have you seen a crocodile from close? The coming week can be your best opportunity.
If you want to see a glimpse of deadly jaws who live in the Wiswamitri River, then join Croc Walk which is held as part of the People’s Heritage Festival on Sunday.
In an effort to spread the awareness of the crocodiles that have been with Barodians since decades, the first crocodile roads have been arranged in the city.
“Barodian usually sees or heard about crocodiles during the rainy season when many reptiles roam on the road.
But not many know about crocodiles, their habitat, how they survive in Wiswamitri and why the river is important for the eco city system,” Vishal said Thakur who has organized the road.
“So, we decided to arrange a crocodile trip and bring people along the banks of the Vishwamitri river,” he added.
“Apart from getting a closer look of the reptile, participants will also get an overview of how crocodiles live side by side with humans.
This will help spread awareness about crocodiles and other river living things,” said Thakur to Ti.
The census of the forest department conducted last year revealed that around 270 crocodiles live in the Wiswamitri River.
Apart from Croc Walk, the inheritance tree road has been held by Dr.
Jitendra Gavali and Chandrashekhar Patil on Saturday on Jalan Ongc where the duo will talk about trees that are planted along the road, diversity and fruiting season.
“Vadodara is home to various trees including many rare.
The tree runs will be about the diversity and the importance of these trees,” said Patil.
Sanjay Soni will also arrange inheritance inheritance on November 22 where he will bring people at the Navnath Temple Tour which explains the importance of all nine Shoes of God Shiva in the city.
On Sunday, Sandip Joshi art historian will also arrange the streets of the Baroda Museum where it will bring residents through the museum in Majibaugh and explain the statues and paintings.
On November 22, Zubair Motiwala’s numismatic expert would arrange the coin museum road on Jalan Ajwa.
Samir Gaiwkad has organized a legacy cycle trip where drivers will be taken to the wells of steps in various regions in the city.
