Jerusalem: The Ministry of Health Israel said on Friday it has confirmed seven cases of new Omicron variants from Coronavirus, triggering concerns about a surge in delayed infection.
Four of confirmed cases were individuals who were not vaccinated which had just returned from South Africa.
The other three included two people who returned from South Africa and from England and who had received two doses and shot booster from the Pfizer-Biontonech vaccine.
The third person returned from Malawi and had been inoculated with AstraZeneca vaccine.
Israel is one of the first countries to close its borders to all non-Israeli citizens after the discovery of the first case of the Omicron variant last week.
Israel from abroad was allowed to return home.
The ministry said it had ‘high suspicion’ ‘that 27 other cases identified from Coronavirus were also new variants.
Eight of them are individuals who have traveled abroad or come into contact with the recent arrival that has been positively tested for Omicron.
The rest cannot be connected with foreign trips, an omicron variant indication can now spread in cities and cities of Israel.
