Udupi: The new oxygen generator factory was installed at the Lombard Memorial Hospital (Mission), Udupi, was purchased and installed by the Azim Premesi Foundation, inaugurated on Monday.
The PSA oxygen generator was imported from Portugal with a cost of Rs 40 Lakh with the Azim Premesi Foundation which contributed all amounts.
It has the capacity to produce 30 cylinder jumbo oxygen per day and also has an automatic change system if more oxygen is needed from an additional cylinder.
There is separate oxygen for the ICU.
With this, hospitals now have oxygen pipes to all wards, victims, intensive care units (ICU), high dependency units (HDU), labor theater and operating theater (OT).
In addition, hospitals have ten small individual oxygen concentrators and two high flow nasal oxygen systems.
The inauguration of the factory, Jayakar Shetty, General Manager, Badagabetu Credit Cooperative Society, praised the efforts of doctors and hospital staff mission for dedication, affection and their commitment to serve, especially during the Covid crisis.

Sushil Jathanna, Director of the Hospital, thanked the Azim Premesi Foundation because of its generous contribution to the establishment of the factory and said the hospital had also invested in ensuring that all environments and rooms were provided with oxygen pipes.
He told him that the height of four bed dependency units (HTU) had been set in addition to the Covid ICU six beds and non-covid four other beds.
“Mission hospitals are ready to deal with increased acceptance if the third wave Covid occurs,” he said, urging the public to take more responsibilities for their own health by adopting covid behavior, such as wearing masks, cleaning use, and maintaining social distance.
He also asked everyone who was not vaccinated to vaccinate as soon as possible and urged the central government to ensure that all health workers and the front lines received a dose of booster.
