Bhubaneswar: DNA report on Monday confirmed that pieces of bone taken from the pit is mamita Meher, former head of the Sunshine English medium school in Kalahandi, killed and then burned the body to destroy evidence.
Parts of the body matched blood samples from their parents.
DNA reports have made clear, the body is the property of Mamita.
Prime accused in the case and the founder of the school, Gobinda Sahu, had confessed before the police that he had killed Mamita in his car and then burned and buried the bodies to destroy the evidence.
The police came under attack by opposition parties calling Shoddy investigations.
But the DNA report makes the case stronger.
“It would be strong evidence to ensure conviction on charges that have tried their best to destroy the evidence.
The report will be submitted in the court,” said a senior police officer.
The police claimed that they proceed with the arrest Gobinda and his aide Radhe and conduct an inquiry into the case based on direct evidence, statement of recognition of the defendant, the account of eyewitnesses, materials incriminating taken from the car, CCTV footage, and most important, part of the body to dig out of the hole.
State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) has received a bone (taken from the hole) and blood samples of parents Mamita on 23 October.
The police have sent 70 varieties of exhibits to SFSL.
