Bhubaneswar: A total of 26 trains will continue to be canceled between December 7 and December 15 to double the work in the sampled-hirakud stretch and modernization associated with the modernization between Belpahar and Himgir Stations.
In addition, the popular train Bhubaneswar-Balalangir Express will be briefly cut off from Wednesday to December 14.
Many of these trains connect the eastern part of the country, especially Puri and Bhubaneswar with the western part of the state.
People who travel often and people who have medical work or office in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack will face difficulties for the cancellation of this train.
The sources of the East Coast Railway (ECOR) said they would cancel 20 trains and divert 16 trains because of non-interrelated jobs for multiple-line commissioning between Sambalpur and Hirakud on the sambalpur-titlagarh doubling project in the Sambalpur division.
This train will be canceled between Tuesday and December 15.
Some canceled trains include Puri-Durg Express, Rourkela-Puri Express, Howrah-Sambalpur Express, Sambalpur-Varanasi Express and others.
The official source said 14 of the 16 trained trains came from Puri and Bhubaneswar.
So, people traveling by train can travel through routes diverted to achieve their goals.
Because this multiplied job, Bhubaneswar-Balalangir Express will be canceled partly between Rairakhol and Balalangir.
This train starts from Bhubaneswar to run to Rairakhol and return from there to Bhubaneswar instead of going to Balalangir.
“I usually use Bhubaneswar-Balalangir Express to travel frequently to Balalangir, but now I will face difficulties because of the short terms of the train.
I have worked in Balalangir on December 10.
I will face discomfort and pay extra money to reach there,” said Sudiptopa Sudipta Nayak , a student from a city-based engineering college.
Likewise, Ecor has canceled six pairs of trains until December 12 for the work of the modernization between Belpahar and Himgir stations in Jharsuguda Regency.
This train is Indore-Puri Express, Valsad-Puri Express, Bikaner Junction-Puri Express, Puri-LTT Express, Bhubaneswar-LTT Express and Visakhapatnam-Amritsar Junction Express.
In addition, Ecor has canceled seven distance trains on Monday and four other trains on Tuesday and Wednesday for sweeping adjustments due to large train cancellations in the view of Cyclone Jawad.
