Kolkata: Traffic Police Kuningan has asked Sergeant at 25 traffic guards to continue the Breathalyzer test even after 1am, outside the usual night check time.
Instead of nakas, this officer will carry out an examination at the intersection.
Despite launched last weekend, all 50 sergeants from traffic guards hit the road on Tuesday night, because the weather improved.
DC (Traffic) Arijit Sinha said, “Sergeant has been told to be active on the road even at night.
The right time for anti-drink inspection will be decided by the traffic control room.” The sources signaling the check will be held between 1am and 4 Morning to curb early occurrence, the majority caused by DrinkDriving.
“Our AFER increases size, demanding even cyclists and horse-drawn trains, 490 has been demanded from November 1 to Monday and licenses 129 suspended,” said an officer.
A part in Lalbazar claimed the step was also to make sergeant responsible.
“This will keep them awake,” claimed ACP even though the officers in the traffic guards denied them sleeping or resting at night.
“Is it a patrol that supports GPS or arranges tea for truck drivers coldly, we are always on the road,” said an officer.
