Nagpur: The State Public Works Department (PWD) is likely to open a bridge to live a 705 meter cable with the first sky gallery above, bridging backwaters from Gosikhurd Dam in Ambhora, in June next year.
PWD has proposed a colorful lighting system on cables and concrete bridge structures to make it more beautiful.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has approved the RS176 Crore under the Central Road Fund for this project.

The bridge was to open traffic in two years but had been postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The PWD team includes the Chief Engineer Sanjay Dashpipe, Interintending Engineer Vidyadhar Sardeshmukh, Deputy Engineering BD Ramteke and others hope to finish work in June next year.
T and T Infra Limited-based Pune is executing the project.
The cable bridge will be 3.5 times longer than Jhula Ram, which is 200 meters long and has a single range.
Previously, the plan was to build the Ambhora bridge with a 65 meter range at each end, and four ranges 140 meters in the middle.
Ramteke told Tii, “Now, each there are five ranges of 140 meters.
All work on the two ranges towards the Bhandara District has been completed.
The remaining three poles are also complete.

Ramteke said, “Sky Gallery is the first-of-good in this country.

PWD officials said the bridge would provide good connectivity between Nagpur Regency, Bhandara and Gadchiroli, in addition to producing tourism.
Kuhi and Umrer Tehsils from the district will connect with Sakoli and Lakhandur Tehsils in the Bhandara district.
PWD has expanded the road 25 km from Chipli to Ambhora from 3.75 meters to 7 meters.
There is a proposal to expand it further to 10 meters every time the traffic increases.
Also, PWD has widened the road from Chipli to Kuhi and Panchgaon on Jalan Umred-Nagpur.
The road to Kardha and Paoni in the Bhandara district is 3.75 meters wide.
PWD has also proposed to expand this road.
