LONDON: England can apply more powerful Covid-19 steps, including suggestions for working from home, at the beginning of Thursday in an effort to slow the spread of the omicron variant of Coronavirus, according to media reports.
Johnson can announce immediately after Wednesday, the new B plan which can also include a Covid passport for large places, the report, citing government resources that are not named, said.
Tom presenter Tom Newton Dunn said on Twitter that the source had told him the announcement of plan B was “85% possibility”.
A Johnson office spokesman said they did not have direct comments.
The yield on sterling and British government bonds fell on reports and investors improved their bets at the Bank of England raising interest rates on December 16, at the end of the December meeting.
Johnson faces a counter-attack after the video appears showing his staff laughing and joking about how to explain the meeting at Downing Street during Lockdown Covid Christmas last year when the celebration was prohibited.
