Jaipur: The State Education Department will introduce a ‘education in maternal language’ program in the pre-primary and primary class from the next academic session with new education policies (NEP).
The Rajasthan Research & Training Council (RSCERT), Udaipur, has prepared a curriculum with contents in three languages ​​- Hindi, English, and local dialects.

The state has 18 local dialects recognized by the central government and some small dialects.

“Intense training has been given to teachers to train or teach students in classrooms with a new module.
The focus is to educate students in their local language to keep these languages ​​alive,” said Priyanka Jodhawat, RSCERT head.
The research body has also maintained provisions that allow the teachers to fill or modify words for public articles or places if they are different sounds in certain areas.
The dialect class will stop after grade 5.
