Ahmedabad: The journey of the increase in the Covid-19 case daily continued in Gujarat with 70 cases in 24 hours ending 5pm on Thursday, the highest in the last 158 days.
For the last three days in a row, cases remained above 60.
In fact, the first nine days of December have recorded 478 cases at an average of 53 cases of everyday.
In comparison, November has recorded 898 cases in 30 cases every day.
New positive cases include 13 of the city of Ahmedabad, 10 of the city of Jamnagar, 9 from the city of Letters, 6 of each from the city and District of Vadodara, 5 of each of Navsari and Valsad, 4 of Anand, each from Rajkot City and Kutch, 2 of each of the cities of Bhavnagar and Gandhinagar, and 1 of each of Rajkot and District.
Of the total, 78% of cases were recorded from cities with Jamnagar which recorded a large surge.
With a debit of 22 patients, active cases rose sharply by 48 to 459 – again one of the highest in the last five months.
The country recorded vaccination of people of 3.75 lakh, took a total to 8.42 crores.
