Lucknow: Music, culture and food, the city of Nawabs also has a bird gharana.
Naturalists and bird observers have seen and registered at least 360 species of birds in the capital up.

Recognizing Lucknow’s wealth in terms of birds, former Bombay Director of History of Natural History and ASAD Observer R Rehony said: “Lucknow has many hamlets that are liked by birds which are the most important indicators of ecosystem health.
They play an important role in stabilizing natural health .
They are known as indicators of bio-systems environment.
“Naturalists and Officers IAS Sanjay Kumar, who has written seven books on birds in various cities, adding that the diversity and density of birds, especially in the urban landscape, decide how many places are intact.
Kumar, along with Neeraj Srivastava, has written a book titled ‘Birds of Lucknow’, which is a visual document of more than 250 species of birds found in the city.
“Birds are an integral part of life.
They gave us the opportunity to respect the nature that returned love and attention in a few folds,” said Srivastava.
Various bird observers from Lucknow – a community of more than 200 people from various layers of people who share that Kukrail Forest is one of the most preferred goals to see birds.
The Iim-Lucknow campus, SGPGI Campus, National Botanical Research Institute, remote sensing application center, complex residency, Cantonese and wetlands around Lucknow are other homes for birds.
