Chandigarh: “Don’t lose hope in any circumstances.” The prophetic words of the Captain of the Varun Singh Group, Survivor Survivor Helicopter Wednesday fell in Coonor Tamil Nadu which killed CD General Bipin Rawatat, his wife and 11 people.
Singh wrote this in an inspirational letter three months ago to his alma mater, the Army Public School, Chandimandir, a Cantonment near Chandigarh.
Singh is very important and undergoing treatment at a military hospital, Bangalore.
In a four-page letter aimed at the principal, Singh said he was an ordinary student, barely scored the first division in class XII.
He said he was on average in sports and other co-curricular activities.
Advising students to “never lose hope”, he said: “I am mediocre and today, I have reached a difficult milestone in my career.
Don’t think that the XII class board signs what you can achieve in life.
Believe me On himself, working towards him, “he wrote, informed about his awards, Won-Shaurya Chakra, the third highest Gallantry Peacetime award, for the critical landing of a lightweight fighter plane in an emergency air.
“You may be mediocre at school, but it doesn’t mean things that will happen in life.
Find your call, it can be art, music, graphic design, literature, etc.
Whatever you use, dedicated , do the best.

He said he was not superior in the study or sport at NDA, but found his wings at the Air Force Academy.
“Passion for my flight gave me an edge over my friends”, but did not have confidence, he said.
“After commissioning as a young aircraft lieutenant in a fighting squadron, I realized that I could do it well if I put my mind and heart for it …
(and then) things began to turn in my professional and personal life …” Singh wrote it he would be very humble if some parts of this story were shared with children.
“If I can inspire one child to trust him in himself, I will reach my destination,” he signed.
