Bhubaneswar: Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Gopalpur in Ganjam will soon have a Complex of Ammonium Nitrate Technical (TAN) with the Chair of the Minister of Naveen Patnik placing the foundation stone on Thursday.
SmartChem Technologies Limited (STL), a subsidiary of 100% fertilizer Deepak and Petrochemical Corporation Limited, will invest around 1,750 crore at facilities that will produce 1.65 lakh mtpa ammonia, 2.97 lakh mtpa nitrate acid, 3.77 lakh mtpa Ammonium nitrate and 3.30 lakh mtpa technical ammonium nitrate.
This facility will provide work to 1,500 people during the construction phase and 325 in the operational phase.
“STL is one of the companies that will have a positive impact on the industrial and agricultural sectors in the state.
Units will not only help STL to establish themselves as a major player in the chemical sector, but will also help in growth and development.

The minister’s chairman said the new investment in the midst of a pandemic also marked a new round in the relationship between STL and the state government.
The foundation tone is placed in front of Sailesh Mehta, Director of Chair and Managing Stl.
The State Minister for the State of Shankar Mishra, who joined the video conference, said the Industrial Department had worked continuously with other departments to ensure the provision of seamless services to the industry.
“Ammonium technical nitrate is a very important raw material that will trigger infrastructure, economics and nation development.
We look forward to reducing our dependence on imports,” said Mehta.
