Ed: Sajucoimatore: Two cases of sexual assault involving underage children reported in the city in the last two days.
East All-Women Police arrested a 23-year-old man on Thursday to rape and impregnate a relative age of 15 years.
The police identified him as a manikandan teacher from Kangeyam in the Tirupur district, a construction worker.
He used to visit the girl’s house in Coimbatore and kidnap it on November 2020, and marry her, police said.
They were in a rented house in the Peellamedu in Coimbatore.
On Thursday, after a little girl freed a baby girl at Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH), the doctor told the police.
Inspector Dowlat Nisha enrolled the case and captured the teacher.
He was ordered below section 5 (L), 5 (j) (II), 6 of the protection of children from sexual law, 2012 and section 366 of the Criminal Procedure Code and Section 9 from the ban on the child’s marriage law, 2006.
He Returned in court custody and submitted in Sathyamangalam sub-jail.
In the second incident, the Central All-Women Police on Friday arrested S Mahendran, 28, a native of Tiruchendur in the Tuticorin district, to rape and hack the 16-year-old girl.
Mahendran, who works as a truck driver in Coimbatore City, married the girl, relatives, in January.
On Friday, the girl was taken to the hospital, where she was found to be pregnant.
The doctor told Palannamal police inspector, which registered a case against Mahendran under ACT Pocso and arrested him on Friday night.
