Kolkata: Covid-19 has claimed close to 20,000 people in Bengal and around 5 lakh throughout the country.
Like still living family members struggling to take pieces, many social security problems other than mental trauma.
On Friday, Covid Network Care (CCN) launched the National Covid Memorial – Legal Services Help in Kolkata with the aim of helping them in trouble.
CCN launched two helpline numbers to coincide with Human Rights Day – December 10 members of their families killed in a pandemic can call this number and seek help for problems related to social security.
“Through this initiative, we intend to extend our hands as facilitators of rights intended for this family of victims of covid martyrs,” said IPGMER Hepatology Head Abhijit Chowdhury, KKN Mentor.

We can help them with procedures.
But if needed, we can take certain issues in court too, “said Das, who also served as CCN Vice President.
From helping in obtaining documents such as the heir certificate and submitting claims with financial institutions, the legal team will come to save from depressed.
“We will not limit our activities only to problems related to ex-Gratia claims but try and help every time someone is rejected justice on issues regarding Covid.
