New Delhi: Delhi Cological Traffic Police were injured after he was hit by a SUV at Pul Prahladpur in Southeast Delhi on Friday.
The police said the incident occurred when he tried to stop the vehicle.
The defendant escaped from the place after hitting the police.
The complainant in this case, assistant sub-inspector Harsingh, posted in the circle of the Kalkaji, told the police that around noon, he along with three policemen on duty at the T-Point on Pul Prahladpur.
“We are examining vehicles coming from Mehrauli,” said the complainant.
They saw the Endeavor SUV, giving Haryana’s number, jumping red light towards Badarpur.
“Constable Mukesh and I signal the vehicle driver to stop,” added the complainant.
Instead of stopping the SUV, the driver speeds up his vehicle and hit Mukesh.
“He fell on the road and received an injury to his legs.
The driver who was wrong escaped from the place with his vehicle towards Badarpur,” added the complainant.
The victim rushed to the hospital for further treatment.
The case below section 186 (hinders public servants in the dismissal of public functions), 353 (violence or criminal to prevent public servants from the release of their duties), 279 (driving rash or driving in a public way) and 337 (causing injured by ACT which endangers life Personal Safety of others) IPC Law and 119/177 MV are registered at the Prahladpur Police Station.
This is not the first time the incident happened in the city.
In June, a sub-inspector assistant was hit by a fast car and police chief who tried to stop the vehicle was carried out on his hood for almost two kilometers at West Delhi’s Mayapuri.
