Mangaluru: City police arrested a match achievement in connection with the death of four family members on December 8.
The defendant, noor, 50, had been charged with a suicide downsuction.
City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar on Friday said that the late Nagesh had sent a voice note to Chandrashekar K before allegedly hanging himself and accused the noor in trying to change his wife to Islam.
Nagesh Sheriguppi, 30, his wife Vijyalakshmi, 26, Putri Sapna, 8, and Son Samarth, 4, all native residents of Sunag Village in Bilgi Taluk from Bagalkot District, were found dead at their home at the Morgan Gate.
While Nagesh was a driver, his wife worked as a domestic aid at noor’s house.
Shashi Kumar said Nagesh and the family were in the same apartment complex as alleged.
The family then shifted to another house.
Lately, the couple experienced rough patches in their marriage and often fought.
The investigation and statement of recognition of noorjahan revealed that when the couple began to advance further, noor, a match, pushed Vijyalakshmi to divorce her husband and even arranged a lawyer for him.
He also promised to find the Vijyalyakshmi match from his community.
Nagesh has been fighting with noor for this, police said.
Nagesh is an alcohol and often harasses his wife.
When Vijyalaksi lost with his children for six days, he reportedly lived with noor, police said.
The preliminary medical report shows that Nagesh hung itself, while Vijaylaksmi was watered and the children were strangled to death.
The police have confiscated photos of Vijyalakshmi and other items from noor’s house.
The defendant was produced in front of the court and returned in the custody of the judiciary.
