Coimbatore: City Police have registered a case against a private school teacher on Saturday for beating class XI Boy students at the school at Ganapathy here two days ago.
School management has placed teachers, identified as 34-year-old Kumar K Sivaranjith, under suspension.
A native population of Alampalayam Village near Annur, Sivaranjith teaches physics in private middle school in Ganapathy for the past three years.
“He lives in Krg Nagar in Ganapathy,” said a police officer.
Officers said school management had provided uniforms to students last week.
“The boy in question has changed the uniform, because the size is not feasible for him.
When the teacher found that on Thursday, he was reported to struggle the boy with naked hands, leaked signs on his back and shoulder.” The boy told his parents.
, which took him to Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital, where he was treated as an outpatient.
Based on the complaint of the boy, the Saravanampatti police registered a case against the teacher under Section 323 (punishment because voluntarily caused injury) from the Indian punishment code.
“We will conduct an investigation with the classmate of the boy on Monday,” the officer said.
The AIDMK coordinator O Panneerselvam, meanwhile, issued a statement that advised the teachers to maintain discipline and decorum.
He also looked for the Intervention of Minister M K Stalin and guidelines for teachers and students to prevent similar incidents in the future.

School teachers must be punished, and the teacher must be trained,” he tweeted.
