PANAJI: A jolt from the inside of the BJP government in Goa, Panaji Party MLA MLANASIO ‘Babush’ Monsrerrate turned on the PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar on Saturday, accused him of “posting engineers to sell” in the alleged fraud of RS 70 Crore recruitment.
“I have evidence that people have paid ministers between Rs 25 and Rs 30 Lakh for each engineer and the minister has sold the position to the highest bidder.
This is a rs 70 crore fraud.
This is my direct cost and allegation,” Monserrate told Tii.
“The department has advertised at least 360 posts engineers,” he said.
Monsrerate demanded that the Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant must attract a list of appointments and giving justice to people who have graduated properly, if not, people will protest.
“I demand that the fresh examination be carried out as far as the PWD post and the minister must be considered.
The work must be filled through the Staff Election Commission,” he said.
The Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant said he would “see a problem”.
“There are two choices list, including a list of achievements.
I read the list and there was a candidate who passed as a technical assistant and he was the third in the list, but if you saw a new list, he made a Junior Engineer,” he said.
Monserrate said Sawant had convinced him that he would call the minister, but the minister’s chairman had not talked about interesting list.
Fast on the heel of the allegations of Monserrate, President of the GFP and Fatorda Mla Vijai Sardesai Tweeted, “When a ruling party MLA revealed going tariffs for work in Goa, accusing the minister of the massive corruption party, it only ratified what we have said so far.” He continued To describe the government led by Sawant as a “governance of the” menu card that has “looted their money and the Goa of his dignity”.
GFP said it would approach the Election Commission and the High Court to seek justice.
Monserrate, Santa Cruz MLA Antonio Fernandes and St Andre Mla Francisco Silveira have met Sawant to complain about corruption in the process of recruitment work at PWD.
