New Delhi: In the last 12 days, Delhi has recorded an average of 63 Covid-19 cases per day, the highest in four months.
In August, September, October and November, Delhi each recorded, 48.37, 32 and 35 new covid cases on average every day.
The number of active cases in the city, medical data shows, also increased significantly – from 348 in October-tip to 393 on December 13.
Dr.
Sarin, Deputy Chancellor, Institute of Heart and Biliary, said the trend was worrying.
“The results of the available genome sequencing so far (until the end of November) show that the Delta variant remains the main cause of Covid infection.
However, we need to monitor the results closer for the next few weeks to assess the cause of the increase in everyday cases,” he said, showing Uncertainty over the latest Omicron variant leading to new cases.
Dr.
Rommel Tickoo, Director, Internal Medicine, Max Hospital, Saket, said, “Until about a month ago, we did not get a new Covid case.
Now, for the past few days, I received one or two requests every day for the patient’s consultation who suffer from a viral infection.
“Tickoo said it was too early to blame a new variant for increased cases, but prevention steps needed to be improved.
“Most covid patients who currently see fully vaccinated, but have been infected.
Fortunately, they have mild symptoms,” Tickoo revealed.
The increase in Covid cases was also reflected in the data distributed by the Delhi government about covid bed residence in the hospital and city isolation center.
The latest updates show 164 covid beds occupied by Lok, Manohar Ram Lohia, Lady Hardinge Medical College, Apollo Indraprastha and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, among the main medical care centers.
“There is no reason to panic,” convincing Dr.
Arun Gupta, President, Delhi Medical Council.
“But we also cannot be satisfied.
Not only the daily numbers are increasing in Delhi in the last few days, but even the level of prospitis.” Gupta added that the reasons for increasing external possibilities: the arrival of passengers from other countries where the Covid case continued to be high.
“If the reason is internal – non-compliance with the appropriate behavior of Covid – the case will increase throughout India.
But it’s not the problem,” he explained.
On Monday, Delhi recorded 30 new Covid cases at a 0.06% front minister.
There were no deaths reported in the last 24 hours because of this disease, officials said.
