Vadodara: Four people died and nine others were hospitalized after consuming food at a religious ceremony in a village in Devgadh Baria Taluka from Dahod District on Monday.
The incident took place in Bhulvan Village at Devgadh Baria Taluka at the ‘Garar’ ceremony organized by the tribal community there.
Food was also served at the ceremony and around 13 sick people after consuming food.
According to the district collector, Harshit Gosavi, around 50 people have attended the ceremony.
He added that four sick people died even when nine others rushed to the hospital.
The condition of one of the nine hospitals is also said to be critical.
Gosavi said that the team was sent to the village to ask about this problem.
“Food food samples have been collected.
Autopsy will be carried out at the deceased on Tuesday to identify the reasons for death,” he said.
Gosavi said that no one else except nine hospitals and four dead had been sick.
He added that the reason for death would come out only after the report arrived.
