Thiruvananthapuram: CPI State Secretary Kanam Rajendran Arif Mohammed Khan accused the governor to publish the secret correspondence between him and the government and said that the governor does not force the LDF government to strip him of posting Chancellor.
“Chancellor Pos is the position given by the Governor of the State Assembly; the Assembly is always free to take back the same, the Governor should not force the government to do that,” said Rajendran told reporters here on Monday.
“I am a representative of a party, who has an opinion that the Governor Post unwarranted.
We have the foresight when it comes to the behavior of the governor,” he said.
Kanam said Khan has shown the same inability of the things about the CAA and agriculture law, but without producing results.
“But where toughness take him? He first refused to hold the house should discuss agricultural law.
But then he agreed to hold a session and discuss the house,” said Rajendran.
CPI leader said there was nothing wrong with the governor who had a different opinion from the government.
But the problem starts when an attempt is made to bear the limelight through the media.
“The Chief Minister was forced to respond to allegations openly when the government failed to maintain the correspondence between him and the Secret CM.
If the governor had some doubts, it will naturally end up with an explanation from the government,” he said.
Adding arguments placed by Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday, Rajendran said the appointment of the vice-chancellor all done according to the rules.
Search committee set according to UGC norms and the governor should take a decision when the panel recommends the name.
“Here, the governor talked bad about the decisions that have been taken,” he added.
On Monday, the mouthpiece of the CPI Janayugom published an editorial criticizing the governor because of lower stature position.
Editorial said Governor failed to prove his points against the government on previous occasions.
He also failed to garner public support, he said.
Meanwhile, SFI also come out in support of the state government.
National President SFI VP Sanu said the government should not be begging in front of the Governor if he insisted on leaving office as Chancellor.
“If he wants to relinquish the post, let him do it.
Let the chief minister to take over that post.
Who is so specialized that only a governor who should hold the position of chancellor? No need to ask him to stay,” he said, adding that if Khan is not ready to hold position, let the State Assembly explore other options.
