NOIDA: Two engineering company chosen by the developer to bring down the Twin Towers Emerald Court tend to share detailed plans about the demolition exercise in a meeting with the Noida Authority on Thursday.
The meeting coincided with the twin towers demolition case hearing in the Supreme Court on Thursday.
Noida Authority and the developer, Supertech, will advise the court demolition exercise status and explain the delay in implementation.
On August 31, The Apex Court has ordered that the Twin Towers – Apex and Ceyane – dropped in three months, said they had been built illegally.
Although the deadline expires on November 30, the demolition plan has not been filed in court.
Sources said the virtual meeting will begin at 11 am on Thursday.
One of the two engineering companies will present their methodology that will be applied to bring down the buildings and also specify the period of time required for the entire workout.
Other companies, though ready to plan, will make a presentation at another meeting.
“Supertech have sent representations on this issue.
It is being examined by our officers.
We will ask the engineering firm to take us through their plans and gave us a time line.
We will be able to share further details only after going through their presentation,” said Ritu Maheshwari , chief executive of the Authority.
Sources said the agents are exploring the idea of using explosives for the demolition of the twin and can ask for six more months for the entire exercise, including removal of debris from the site.
A case study by one of the companies will demonstrate how a 108 meter high building in South Africa dropped safely through implosion although unlicensed 7.8 meters from the nearest structure, sources said.
In the case of Emerald Court, the nearest inhabited building – ASTER 2 – within 9 meters.
Authorities will ask members of Emerald Court Residents Welfare Association to participate in a meeting on Thursday.
Senior officials from the fire department will also present their input.
“We will invite all stakeholders.
They should be aware of the plan of action from the first day itself.
Participation RWA members is required at this stage because they have accumulated a number of questions and concerns,” said an official with the authority earlier in the day.
Experts from the center of the building and research institutes (CBRI) going through the plans to be submitted by the two companies engineering at the meeting.
The Supreme Court has asked the authority to keep CBRI in the loop to ensure the demolition takes place in a safe manner.
Two companies – Engineering Genesis Engineering and Edifice – recommended for demolition last month by Supertech, seeking more time to prepare a detailed plan.
On Tuesday, the developer says the company is ready with their presentations.
“We have told the authorities that the two companies were ready with their plans, and they can be discussed in detail with all the stakeholders,” the spokesman said Supertech Limited.
UBS Teotia, Supertech Emerald Court RWA president, said, “We have been informed about the meeting on Thursday morning.
Three of our members will attend the session.”
