New Delhi: Hansini Mathan Rajan India defeated Hend Zaza Syria, the youngest athletes from the Tokyo Olympics this year, to win the Singles Girls at HoPes 2021 ITTF and challenged table tennis tournaments in Amman.
Playing in the U-12 category, the ruling national cadet champion uploaded Zaza 11-6, 11-8, 6-11, 11-6 in the final was played on December 14.
Parth Prabhakar is an Indian entry at a single boy’s single event won by Komeil Niknejad Divshali Iran.
Hansini, who has lived in Amman for the camp organized by the Asian Table Tennis Union, said the final was the toughest match of the competition.
“I knew my opponent had gone to the Olympics earlier this year, but I didn’t think about it while playing it.
There was no pressure and I just played my game,” said the 12-year-old player who considered his backhand the strongest aspect of the game.
During the tournament, he was accompanied by his mother and coach Mamta Prabhu, who was also a former Indian player.
Hansini based in Chennai has also secured the second ITTF World Series title with a victory in the U-13 women’s category in Muscat in October.
He has won the title of the permanya youth series in Tunisia in September.
He was trained by Father Shinawas Shrinivi Rao Great Sharafal Rao and Uncle Muralidhar Rao.
“Since he started playing games as a 7-year-old child, he had looked at Saharah Kamal,” his mother said Pratibha referred to one of the best Indian Paddlers.
After the camp at Amman, Hansini will return to India to play a national level event.
