Mumbai: More than 3,000 kg of narcotics drugs that have been confiscated during a destroyed period of time on Wednesday by the City Police Ant-Narcotics (ANC) cell.
The burntown value burned was pegged at Rs 14.65 Crore, police said.
“The destroyed drugs have been confiscated in 26 cases by anti-narcotics cells,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Dutta Nalawade.
The destroyed drug includes more than 3,000 kg of marijuana, 3kg charas, cocaine, mephedrone, heroin, amphetamine, 11,271 bottle of cough syrup.
The drugs were taken to Taloja who accommodated the incinerator facilities where all overdicting goods weighed more than 3,000 kg of burning medicines.
The facility said police officials, accommodated the chimney.
It took more than four hours to burn the confiscated ingredients.
As mandated by the procedure, a member of the drug disposal committee and the police team stands with materials to be fully burned.
After the material was destroyed, the committee issued a contribution certificate of smuggling goods, said an officer.
Of all the narcotics drug deposits, the biggest haul who had been confiscated in one case was 1,800 kg of marijuana worth around Hospital 3.5 Crore which was confiscated in February this year.
Two people have been arrested in this case.
Cannabis has been hidden in the cavity below where he is transported.
The cavity is then covered with coconut.
The police said that this consignment, which was originally intended for letters, had been transferred to Mumbai at the last time since the person who would accept it in a letter was arrested by Gujarat police.
The police said that the cost sheet in all 26 cases had been submitted and the problem before the court.
In accordance with the notification of the Central Government of January 2015, every body that wants to destroy drugs confiscated must be permission from the court of trial.
This follows inventory procedures.
“In accordance with Part 52A from narcotics narcotics and psychotropic substances, the police must submit a request in court, seek permission to destroy confiscated drugs,” said an officer.
After a sanction request, the contrabanded goods seized to be taken to court, if the quantity is small, where the judge commands it to set the truth of the confiscated items.
“If the number is large, a judge can also visit a warehouse where the confiscated drugs are saved to examine it.
As the main evidence, one drug sample is saved for the trial stage,” said an officer.
