Kanpur: Four people, used to supply ‘marijuana’ inside where Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU) was arrested by city police on Friday.
The breakthrough was achieved by Kakealtho police, who also recovered nearly 7 kg ‘marijuana’ from their ownership.
The police said during the attack two people including one HBTU student managed to escape.
The four people who were arrested were identified as Dhirendra Kumar and Shivam GAUD, residents of Kakealtho, Anuj Kumar, Native Hamirpur and Suryakant from Pratapgarh.
Dhirendra, Shivam and Anuj were released during the police who examined near the Ram Lila Park in Sarvodaya Nagar and 4.5 kg ‘marijuana’ recovered from all three, while the heakakant was arrested from the Neersheeer Crossing in the City of Pandu Nagar.
The police recovered more than 2 kg ‘marijuana’ from him.
A HBTU student and each other managed to escape during the attack at Ramlila Park in Sarvodaya Nagar.
“Initial investigation revealed that the people who were arrested supply ‘marijuana’ on the HBTU campus over the past few years.
Today, they have planned to supply ‘marijuana’ on the HBTU campus,” said Inspector Kakealtho Ram Kumar Gupta.
“They say that they get good profits.
They used to share profits.
We have interrogated them to solve their network and to form a special team,” said a police officer.
Kakealtho police registered a case against four under the relevant part of IPC.
