Pune: The Pune Cantonment Board recently resumed five peripheral vaccination centers at Wanowrie Bazaar, Ghorpadi, MG Road, Bootee Street and Gaffar Baig Street to speed up vaccination of second doses within the center.
Amit Kumar, CEO of PCB, said they had completed the vaccination of the first dose and their current focus was managing the second dose.
“Previously, we could not run all the centers effectively due to lack of vaccine doses.
Now, we get quite a dose from the district administration, which is why we can reopen the vaccination center,” Kumar said.
Cantonese officials said they had vaccinated 67,661 people, which included 27,983 first dose vaccinations, so far.
Dr.
Nikhil Yadav, responsible for vaccination at the Cantonment, said that there was a lukewarm response for inoculation last month.
“In the past two weeks, we have received a positive response to vaccinations.
People from the PMC limit also come in large quantities.
So, we have to restart vaccination at our peripheral booth at least twice a week at each location,” added Yadav.
