Panaji: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in the state on December 19 to participate in the 60th birthday celebration of Goa Liberation.
During his visit, Modi will inaugurate nearly five projects that include the renovated Fort Aguada Prison Museum, Super Special Blocks in Goa Medical College, New South Goa District Hospital, Flight Skills Development Center at the Mopa Airport and Gas Insulated Airport in Dabolim-Navelim, Margao.
He will also put the foundation stone for international international universities of legal education and research board bars believe in Goa.
The Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant said that the Prime Minister would arrive at Goa on Sunday at 1pm.
He will put a bouquet of flowers in Martyr’s memorial in the presence of tri-service guards and then attend the screen parade and flypast by the Navy and the Air Force in Miramar Beach, Panaji.
“The screen parade will start at 2pm and open to the public, provided they reach the venue at 1:30 a.m.,” he said, added, “Modi then will proceed to Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Taleiiga to attend the main event.” Sawant said that the thermal screening of visitors will be carried out for Covid in the stadium, and a quick antigen test will be done if someone is found with a higher body temperature than usual.
He said that people had to arrive at 1pm at the stadium to attend the main event and at 1:30 a.m., they had to occupy a chair.
Sawant said that freedom fighters would be given an intersection on that occasion.
The minister’s head said that the government department involved in Swayampurna Goa would be respected for excellence.
Modi will distribute the best awards for Panchayat, the best city, the best partner partner and recipient of the best swaying program.
He will also release a coffee table book in Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa.
The prime minister will release stamps and postal cover prepared by the Post Goa Department.
On that occasion, Sawant will present a postcard to commemorate the 60th year of Goa’s exemption to the Prime Minister.
Sawant said that on the day of liberation, the Cabinet Minister would lift a national flag in Talukas which was different from the country.
Sawant said that Rs 3 Lakh had been allocated for the municipality and Panchayat to hold various programs.
