LONDON: Cases in the UK from the Omicron variant which spread rapidly from Coronavirus jumped sharply to almost 25,000 while the total number of deaths reported among people with him so far rose seventh, according to the British health authority.
The Covid-19 case of the confirmed omicron variant reached 24,968 at 1800 GMT on December 17, up to more than 10,000 cases from 24 hours earlier, said the British health security agency on Saturday.
The death of people who had the Omicron strain rose to seven on December 16, up from one in the previous UKHSA data which lasted until December 14, and hospitalization increased to 85 of 65.
