BTR has taken new momentum towards Devpt in 1 year: Sarma

Guwahati: Celebrating the settlement of the first year of BJP and Ally the Liberal People’s Party (UPPL) in the Bodoland of the Territorial Council in Kokrajhar on Saturday, Chairman of the Minister of Himanta Buswa Sarma said in one year, Bodoland territorial territory had taken new momentum developments.

CM added that the historic Bodo Peace Accord was signed before the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Minist of the House of Uni Amit Shah had delivered a new era of peace at Btr.
He further said the agreement increased the scope and strength of BTC, resolving problems related to BODO people and promoting and protecting their social, cultural, linguistic identity in addition to taking a bold step to rehabilitate members of the NDFB faction.
CM adds that the government with its initiative has rehabilitated 2774 former NDFB cadres.
Himanta said the Kokrajhar Government College will be transformed into a full university in three years.
He also shared the government’s decision to establish the Bodoland University campus in Udalgguri.
He also said that the ongoing Kokrajhar Medical College will be dedicated to the public on August 15, 2023.
He continued to say that the process was active to improve the Tamulpur sub-division into district.
Commenting on the laying of 500 hunters as a good sign, Sarma said this would add to the wildlife at BTR.
He added that the reserve declaration of Raimona as a national park was also a good development for BTR.
Setting its plans to make health care facilities more accessible in BTR, CM says that two hospital models will be established in Chirang and Beruga.
He added that in the BTR, 4,949 unlerved families would be given land Pattas when he asked BTC promod boro head to create and launch the portal in line with Basundhara to ensure exclusive land rights for indigenous peoples at BTR.
