Mangaluru: Rice Udupi Kedia Kaje was promoted by Kedarothana’s belief led by Udupi MLA K Raghupati Bhat, will soon be available online.
Trust has succeeded in cultivating rice at almost 1,500 hectares of land in the limit of assembly constituity of udupi.
Trust, in relation to various grams of panthayats, has identified Bera’s land in various places in the electoral district.
Farmers, who leave their fields are not worked on, able to generate nearly 900 tons of rice through initiatives taken by trust.
Rice will be available soon online under the name of the ‘Udupi Kaje’ brand.
The Chairman of the Minister of BikeVaraj Bommai will launch rice marketing online on 20 or December 21, Bhat said.
President of 19 grams of Panchayats and 35 members of the Udupi City Council, which are under the constituency of Udupi, are involved in trust agricultural activities.
Recently, Minister of Animal Husbandry Prabhu Chauhan has inaugurated the office of the farmer manufacturer and released the brand of rice ‘Udupi Kedia Kaje’ which was cultivated in vacant land, using organic farming methods.
“We personally meet farmers, who leave their rice fields not relatively for decades, and convince them to continue agricultural activities.
We expand support to begin organic cultivation, and for transportation of rice seeds, and to harvest plants.
At present, udupi kedia Kaje Rice for sale with Rs 60 per kg at the Office of the Corporate Manufacturer of Farmers in Udupi.
This is an effort to protect rice cultivation in our region, and thus hand it over to the next generation, “he said.
He added that the initiative of rice cultivation will continue next year too.
The Kedarothana company, who bought rice from farmers by offering a good price, is expected to receive incentives from the central government, said Bhat, added, “We hope that people support the initiative by buying udupi Kedia Kaje Rice.”
