Varanasi: The possibility of Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation of the Ropeway project in Kashi during his visit to the city on December 23 it ended after the Varanasi development authority extended the date of submission of tenders until December 23.

The project will make the first city Kashi in this country to use the Ropeway for public transportation, officials said adding that the phase of the Ropeway Project pilot will be executed within a distance of less than 4 km distance between Varanasi Junction (Girlijaghar Crossing) and Girijaghar Crossing (Godowlia)).
The project also received approval from the State Cabinet on December 15.
After that it is expected that the foundation will be placed by PM Narendra Modi during his visit on December 23.
PM will inaugurate projects ready from the RS 850 Foundation of Crore and Lay.
Projects are worth more than Rs 1,100 Crore, including Amul factories on December 23.

Each cable carriage will take 15 minutes to finish the end-to-end trip, officials said.
The Ropway transit system was adopted as a MRTS component following the refusal of the Metro Rail plan for Kashi in June 2018.
