Navi Mumbai: The APMC police have arrested three people for selling fake final certificates for Covid-19 vaccination to those who did not want to take Jabs of RS 3,000, and misused the certificate for intra-nation trips.
Acting on complaints by NMMC medical officers Dr.
Kailas Gaikwad, the APMC police have ordered three accused under the relevant parts of the IPC to cheat and forgery, and under the actions of epidemic disease.
“Illegal beneficiaries may abuse certificates to get a universal pass to travel by train and bus and to visit malls and film theaters where it is obliged to produce a Covid-19 final vaccination certificate to enter,” said Dr.
Gaikwad.
The defendant has been identified as Nitin Shinde (34), the owner of the Xerox Center in the 19D Vashi sector, and two NNMT bus conductors identified as Viraj Vakshe (29) and Amol Zende (35).
Zende has been temporarily representative as a data entry operator at the Urban Health Primary Center NMMC (UHPC) in Turbhe for the past four months.
Shinde and Vzhe were postponed by Zende to provide a fake covishield certificate by making fake entry into the vaccination list at UHPC.
They issued a fake end vaccination certificate using the official NMMC user ID and password to enter the website ‘Cowin.gov.in’.
Acting on the tip, the APMC police sent feedback to Shinde and looked for fake covishield end vaccination certificates.
Shinde, in turn, approached the NMMT Vaskhe bus conductor, which later relates to Zende in UHPC Turbhe and obtained a fake certificate from it.
After Psi Sharad Awhad damaged the racket, he called Dr.
Gaikwad to verify recorded recordings for the vaccination dose managed in the UHPC Turbshe.
It was found that the certificate incurred for feeding mentions the same batch number for the covishield vaccine dose, thus revealing forgery.
Three defendants were sent to police detention until Sunday, told the police.
