New Delhi: With the number of Covid-19 cases which increased in the capital – and the Omicron variant became added attention – Governor of Lieutenant Anil Baijal and the Head of Minister of Arvind Kejriwal will be on Monday reviewing the state of preparedness in the city at the Delhi Disaster Management Authority meeting.
According to sources, regardless of the total readiness to overcome the increasing number of cases, including the Omicron variant, the ongoing vaccination drive will also be discussed at the meeting.
Make sure the appropriate behavior of Covid in public places during the celebration season will be on the table too, the source said.
Covid care centers previously created in various parts of the city tend to be reopened due to establishing an isolation ward.
Covid care center in the village of Persemankan Games has also been prepared with an oxygen bed.
The meeting will be held through video conferencing, starting at 11:30 a.m., and will be attended by Deputy Chairperson of Minister Manish Sisodia, Niti Aayog, a member of Delhi Health Minister Delhi Satyendar Jain, Revenue Minister Kailash Gahlot, Senior Secretary, and other senior officials.
Kejriwal on Saturday said that the Delhi government was ready to overcome the omicron coronavirus variant and advise people not to panic.
He said Delhi could not face a wave of other infections because, according to Serosurvey conducted by the Delhi government, 96% of the city population was found to have antibodies and the majority of them were vaccinated.
While the Delhi government first pointed to a ward isolation at Lok Hospital from or was transited through countries classified as ‘risky countries’.
Directions are given to set a similar insulation unit based on payments at the Batra Hospital and Research Center, Tuxlakabad Institutional Area, Fortis Special Hospital, Vasant Kunj, and Sir Ganga Ram City Hospital.
The total number of patients infected with the Omicron variant soared 12 on Friday to reach 22.
The week recorded 107 fresh covid cases in 24 hours, a one-day surge in almost six months.
