Ghaziabad: Electric bus services are likely to be launched on four routes from December 25, Commissioner of Mahendra Singh Tanwar said Tuesday.
The electro PMI mobility solution, the company that will manage services, has been submitted to the depot-cum-filling station developed in Akbarpur and currently gives a final touch, Tanwar added.
“The e-bus will be gradually introduced.
In the first phase, 25 e-buses will plying on four routes.
More routes and 25 other electronic buses will be added to the next phase,” said Commissioner Civic to Ti.
According to officials, the service will begin in Anand Vihar to Muradnagar, Anand Vihar to Alt, Dilshad Garden to Govindpuram and Tilla Fashion Bhopura to the ADDA bus from Saturday.
“The bus rates have been decided according to the length of the trip.
For the first three kilometers, the cost will be Rs 10 while for 4-6 km the cost will be RS 15,” Tanwar said, adding that the maximum tariff would be Rs 50.
from four routes, Anand Vihar will be Muradnagar will be the longest and covers a distance of 33 km.
It was followed by Anand Vihar to Alt and Dilshad Garden to Govindpuram, which is 20 km long.
Three routes will have 10 cessation.
Although there will be 15 stops in Tilla Bhopura mode to the new ADDA bus route, which is the shortest part of a distance of 15 km, officials said.
After fully charged, the official added, the e-bus can cover a distance of 180 km without stopping.
Buses, they said, will be equipped with CCTV cameras and will be activated by GPS.
Their movement will be monitored at a station established in the UPSRTC office in Kaushambi.
In 2019, the Union Ministry had given its approval to run more than 5,000 electric buses in 64 cities.
Above, 11 cities, including Ghaziabad, selected under the scheme to start electric bus services.
While at first, there were plans to operate the e-bus at least 12 routes, then limited to 10 and further to six routes.
At present, services will only be launched on four routes.
