Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Wednesday the situation in Hong Kong has increased last year from “chaos,” and praised the legislative elections recently in the city as a manifestation of the rights of the people’s democracy.
XI’s statement, brought by government media, was made during a meeting in Beijing with the Chief Executive Hong Kong Carrie Lam.
