Ahmedabad: A stack of overbridge in Mumatpura which will be opened for South Bopal residents and neighboring areas within a few weeks collapsed during stress activities on Tuesday.
No one was injured but the incident had made creeps down the spine of South Bopal residents.

Witnesses such as Rajesh Parmar, tea kiosk owners near the location, claim that some workers and engineers are placed at any end of the deck when the post-tensioning process takes place.
Suddenly around 10:15 pm, some of the bridge deck slumped and collapsed in seconds a loud voice.
“I heard an explosion and was shocked,” Parmar said.
There were almost 90 engineers and laborers on the site when the incident occurred.
This bridge is 853m and design for each of the 114 girder passed by consultants, class consultant engineers and state roads and building departments.
“About 113 girders, each of which was 48m in the range, was successfully placed.

It’s very rare and surprised everything on the site,” claimed a senior Auda engineer at the accident site on Thursday morning .
The head of the executive authority of the Urban Development Authority Ahmedabad (Auda) AB GOR claimed that the ACS (urban development department) had written a letter, asked the road expert team and the building department to check the site and submit the earliest report.
“The department will be assisted by the Auda team to investigate the cause of the deck or girder who gave the way during post-enforcement training,” GOR said.
