Kolkata: Traffic in Park Street is likely to be suspended on December 24, when Wahagia began to gather in the area for the midnight Christmas celebration.
With a night limitation withdrawn from Christmas Eve, the police were strengthening for good voters.
“We expect a buildup of a crowd in the afternoon.
Therefore, Park Street can be a walk to 4 o’clock in the afternoon with traffic diverted to another road,” said an officer.
Vehicles will not be allowed from Jl Nehru Road and Middleton Street to Park Street.
Instead, the vehicle will be permitted from Wood Street to Park Circus with a transfer on side by side.
On Christmas Eve, traffic will only be allowed from Chowringhee to Park Circus between 1 pm and 1 morning.
Traffic to the Mullickbujar side to Chowringhee Via Park Street will not be allowed before 2 am on December 25.
The police will also distribute 1,000-1,500 personnel in the Park Street-Maidan zone on Christmas Eve.
The police will monitor CCTV cameras and have drones, traffic cameras to identify incorrect resisters and riders.
“Every zone will have CCTV and the coverage of drones other than a backpack camera for direct feed.
If not far away, the police will ask the opening to move,” said an officer.
