Nagpur: A 21-year-old young man appeared at the MLA Covid Care Center on Thursday, three days after he found a positive Covid in Mumbai where he was tested following the history of foreign trips.
At night, the report ‘Failure Target Gene (SGTF) also came positively, raising concerns about the possibility of omicron scattered during his trip in this country in the last three days.
Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has told the train authority about the possibility of this positive youth testing for the Omicron variant, which has a high transmission.
NMC will track co-passengers, if they belong to the city, while other local authorities will be warned to search close contact.
The young man has traveled to Malawi in Southeast Africa and then Dubai in the UAE before landing in Mumbai on December 19.
The swab sample was taken at Mumbai International Airport from where he took the train to Bengaluru.
In accordance with the protocol, he was allowed to continue to his destination after taking a business to home isolates because he did not come from a high-risk country.
UAE is among ‘risky’ countries.
He also did not give him the details to Malawi.
On December 20, Bihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials told him about the test report and asked him to enter isolation.
BMC also told their colleagues at Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) because he had provided the address of the Nagpur housing in the form of a covid test.
The young man took the train for Nagpur from Bengaluru and reached Thursday morning.
Civil officials claimed that he immediately reached MLA Hostel CCC from the train station.
“Repeated RT-PCR is done positively tested next to SGTF positive,” official said.
Considering the history of multi-nation travel, MLA CCC shifted it to AIIMS, Nagpur, where special wards have been prepared for supervision of the Omicron variant.
The existence of youth in the last few days left confused officials and they marked it as a supervcreader.
BMC officials did not insist on institutional quarantine for ‘risky’ nation passengers.
Business states that passengers will isolate themselves at their destination.
NMC officials said the young man was asymptomatic.
